Welcome to GlowUp

ABOUT

Founded in 2023, GlowUp is a youth-led organization striving to achieve SDGs 3: Good Health And Well-being and SDGs 5: Gender Equality.

We provide the SPARKLE framework, a 7-step plan to enhance young women's health. The goal of the SPARKLE framework is to encourage young women to access correct health information and learn to protect their own health.

In a world where information, both correct and incorrect, can easily be accessed through social media and the internet, it is important to be able to distinguish between beneficial and misleading information. At GlowUp, we guarantee credibility of the information by only sharing information taken from government websites, large science reports, and articles from the website of universities.

Join us in a quest to boost our health literacy and become a healthier citizen!

MEET THE FOUNDER

Kei Hato

Kei Hato is a passionate STEM student, who hopes to combat the global issue of health disparity and increasing medical burdens through effective nutrition treatments. Her interests extend not only to physical but mental health as well.

Growing up, Kei has watched her father save many lives as a doctor while conducting his own research, and has always been her inspiration. When she developed her own health issues in grade 9, she started actively investigating the mechanisms behind them.

Academic wise, Kei is taking 3 A-levels courses on biology, math, and psychology while attending a full time school in her local curriculum. In terms of extracurriculars, from grade 10, she has been working on various research projects such as a study on the effects of diet on colon cancer at the University of Tokyo, and a study on self-guided help for eating disorders.

Looking ahead to university, Kei hopes to pursue her study in biology and nutrition, as well as learn the fundamentals of research and make connections with top-class researchers. In the future, Kei hopes to become a researcher in order to investigate how healthy diets can be encouraged to prevent diseases such as CVD. She hopes to use nutrition as a treatment that can be applied even to individuals that cannot get enough access to medical resources.
